Spangler's Spring Living History

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

June 21 to 23, 2013

This year's Gettysburg living history event featured representation of the other regiments which together with

the 23rd Virginia formed Steuart's Brigade, which fought across this ground almost 150 years earlier.

Demonstrations included quotes from the brigade's participants in the battle and a presentation on

why the Confederate soldier fought. Much of Saturday's demonstration was caught in video

by representatives from Carrol County, Maryland.

Sunday included a tour of the site of the Rock Creek crossing of Steuart's Brigade and

an advance up Culp's Hill following the course of the original advance.
