Members of the 23rd Virginia Infantry portrayed our regiment in the Spring of 1864 along the Rapidan River. Visitation in the camp this year was excellent, with Saturday's attendance at the park exceeding 2,600. The 23rd exceeded past achievements, winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards.

We were honored to welcome François and his wife Diane (left) from Sweden who made a special effort to see our

demonstration and Tom and his family from northern PA. Tom and his daughter, Lindsey, became our friends

at last year's event, and they returned this year to renew the friendship and camaraderie. A descendant of

23rd Virginia soldier William McKay (Pvt., Co. K) and his wife returned again this year as well to renew our friendship.

We thank our friends who support us in honoring the sacrifices of the men of the 23rd Virginia Infantry and the

many moms and dads who let us tell their kids the real story of the Confederate soldier.
